You may of course not implement return links and leave
'close' strict mode
in KSW
Options unchecked. Then
'close' will be enabled for all topics (see
Close Strict Mode Option). After closing the HI
frame, one can return to the frameset just by pressing 'Back' in browser.
However, if you follow a link to a second topic, and then another to a third, you'll have
to 'Back' all the way to get to the frameset again.
Secondly, when users call a topic from Favorites, there is no link to open the HI frame.
And thirdly, Firefox 'Back' button returns to the frameset home, not current topic,
which requires an extra step of re-selecting the current topic - that's when visitors use
Firefox.
If you choose not to implement return links, you may consider adding to your topics'
header a link to the
entry page, so that at
least there is a way to navigate back to the frameset when no other means are available.
