First time you enter TOC Builder you'll see...
• One item in TOC Folders, which is the root folder in the TOC Folders hierarchy. This is
the project title, that appears as browser title on the web.
• All topics in 'Available Topics'.
Let's create the hierarchy
• Drag an item from 'Available Topics' to the middle panel (the middle panel displays the
content of the folder selected in 'TOC Folders').
You may doubleclick instead of dragging.
• Now right-click the middle panel and create a new folder.
• Select the new folder in 'TOC Folders'.
• Drag to the middle panel topics from 'Available Topics'. Or doubleclick.
• And so on...
You may drag a topic to more than one folder. Such items in folders are
all instances of the same topic; they all point to the same physical file on disk.
If a topic
was filed in a previous session, it does not appear in 'Available Topics". However, you
can file it further to additional folders in TOC Explorer, where is easiest to copy a
topic from a folder to other folders.
Sorting
Adding an item to a folder will place it at the bottom of the list. In the background
however, KSW has already re-sorted the folder contents. If you'd like to preview the
folder contents as sorted, press the 'Sort Preview' button at the base of the list
panel.
Expanding this button lets you change the sort options of the current folder.
You may also sort a list's contents by pressing a column header - this sorts by column.
Now the list is in a temporary sort mode. If it's a manual sorting list, you cannot drag
to position right now, but return it first to normal by 'Sort Preview' and then manual
sorting is enabled again.
