Import a Project
KSW makes it possible to import a published project/web from server, on any internet connected machine (access to previous workstation not required). Follow these steps:

1. Import the web from the server onto the new machine, using the page editor. It is required that you set it on the new machine at the exact location as given in its project.xml file. This is the location where it was originally created (possibly on a different workstation).

For instance, if the web was located at C:\webs\web1 on the source machine, it must be located at C:\webs\web1 too on the target machine.

2. Using KSW, Import the KSW project from the newly arrived local web. Choose 'Import Project' in KSW Projects wizard at application startup.

C: Recommended
Given the import path requirement, it is recommended you create all KSW-enabled webs on your C: drive/volume. At a remote location, a user may only have available a machine/laptop that has no hard drive volumes other than C:.

Moving a Web Folder to the C: drive
Even so - given the above - suppose one created the web folder on D: and now an import is needed on a C: only laptop.

 • Move the web folder from D: to the new location on the C: drive - same machine.
 • Start KSW, select corresponding project - same machine.
 • Mark the 'Change Project Properties' box.
 • Press 'Next', then enter new web folder path on the C: drive.
 • Press 'Next' until you complete the property pages.
 • Load, save, and publish.
 • On the laptop, refresh (publish 'Remote to local') and import.
