Note. If a non-topic page (from a different domain) is displayed in the main frame, 'close' is disabled by default, due to cross-site scripting browser security. A user may, however, shrink the HI frame for a quasi-full browser view of the external page.
• Otherwise (strict mode is on), the 'close' link is disabled when the current topic has no return link. Thus switching between the KB and single page mode is strictly controlled.
Note. A return link is a link/span on a topic page (usually part of the header) that returns a page to the KB. Thus, if the page is displayed at top level, taking the entire browser window, clicking a return link calls the KB frameset, with the current topic in the main frame. See Return Links.
Note. If your KB does not implement return links, you may safely ignore the "'close' strict mode" option.
Why is a
KSW option related to a web link?
Just trying to clear any potential confusion; besides 'Application Options', KSW also has
'Project Options'; project options refer to features that are generated, thus setting such
an option in KSW results (after saving) in the corresponding behavior of the generated web
feature.
